Transportation
Efficient transportation will be provided for all accredited participants throughout the event. This includes airport transfers, daily shuttle services, and information on available routes and parking. Please refer to the external links below for detailed information and real-time updates from each service provider.
Transfers
For independent travel, Szeged is best reached by train from Budapest, with regular direct services available from Budapest to Szeged. Transfers from Szeged railway station to the official hotels and/ or the venue will also be provided. The journey takes approximately 2 to 2.5 hours, depending on the selected transport option.
Airport transfer will be organised using large and mid-size buses or minivans, coordinated according to team arrival and departure schedules. Dedicated staff and volunteers will welcome delegations at the arrival terminal to assist with transfers and luggage handling. Waiting times at the airport will be kept to a minimum, not exceeding one hour whenever possible. The system encourages group transportation to ensure efficiency and sustainability. The official entry point is Budapest, from where all teams will be transferred to the venue.
Shuttle service
A regular shuttle service will operate between all official hotels and the Regatta Course throughout the access and competition periods. Buses will run every 20–30 minutes during peak hours and hourly off-peak, with clearly marked pick-up and drop-off points at each hotel and the venue. The service is free for all accredited participants.
Parking
Designated parking areas will be provided at all main event sites for teams, officials, staff, and visitors. Each team will receive one parking permit allowing access for a trailer and one accredited vehicle (up to 3.5 tons). Additional parking passes may be requested at a cost of 50 EUR / car / competition in advance. Clear signage and traffic management personnel will guide vehicles to the correct zones. Parking at the official hotels will be free of charge for accredited participants, while visitor parking will be available in designated public lots near the venue.
