Entry and Visa
To participate in the FISU World University Championship in Canoe Sports, each delegation must comply with the entry regulations of Hungary. This page outlines the procedures to follow based on your status, to ensure a smooth arrival.
All the necessary information about visaVisa
All participants and officials requiring a visa to enter the host country must follow the official process outlined the National authorities.
1. General Requirements
Delegations are responsible for checking visa requirements and initiating the application process in a timely manner.
Participants are encouraged to reach out to the Hungarian Embassy or consulate in their country or the nearest one, well in advance to inquire about visa requirements. The process of obtaining a visa for Hungary can vary depending on the region, so it is advisable to allow for a 45-day processing period to secure the visa in time.
THE TYPICAL STEPS FOR OBTAINING A VISA ARE AS FOLLOWS:
- Sending the filled-in Visa Application Form to the OC by 17 June 2026, to wuccanoe2026@sukoro.com
- The OC issues the Letter of Invitation Contacting the Hungarian Embassy / Consulate serving in your country / territory and do the paperwork they request from you
- Visa issuance
Please be informed that the OC will not issue an invitation letter without knowing your team’s arrival and departure dates, accommodation details, the number of participants and their identities. If final team selection is pending, a long list of all potential athletes and officials may be submitted to avoid delays.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Hungary and the respective embassy or consulate require the same information from us, therefore, we cannot support your request without your cooperation in providing this information by 17 June 2026.
2. Who Needs a Visa?
Visa requirements vary depending on the nationality of the applicant. It is the responsibility of each delegation to verify the current regulations through the embassy or consulate of the host country in their respective country.
3. Points to Remember
- Make sure passports are valid for at least six months beyond the expected date of departure.
- Incomplete or inaccurate information may delay the issuance of invitation letters or the visa process.
- FISU and the Organising Committee cannot guarantee the issuance of visas; it remains at the discretion of the host country’s immigration authorities.
Entry Point
The Organising Committee will provide airport transfer services for all accredited participants, between Budapest International Airport or Székesfehérvár railway station to the official accommodation sites in Sukoró, Velence, Gárdony, and Székesfehérvár.
